The Chariot: a different story

This card, as I posted earlier, has always been somewhat of a puzzle for me.  I took another look this week and received new insight.  The Rider-Waite standard is of course very different. In that card the charioteer faces the viewer, and the sphinxes while heading off in opposing directions, still seem to have the potential to be made to move in synchrony.

My card has a very different aura. First, I am facing away from the viewer, with my head in the stars and my heart not in my body but swinging from a chain in my hand.  I am in fact facing towards oncoming traffic, seemingly oblivious.  Even the black and white hares seem to know and are scattering out of the path of danger. (in the very first incarnation of the card the hares were facing each other for their own head-on collision)

Light bulb moment: when this card was constructed, I was going through a rough patch. Working hard to get my inner mojo back, as evidenced by my come hither posture.  Even though I wasn't quite feeling it. I've got my three year old self filling in for the charioteer, since I am so out of control.  I figure she can handle it in the meantime.  Took me all these years to really get into what this card meant for me personally, and why the symbols are all askew. It's actually perfect for what it says about me, then. And perhaps it serves as a cautionary tale.
